The ESL AU & NZ Championship, presented by St. George Season 2 finals for Halo 5: Guardians will be held live at the ESL Studios in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, the 19th of November, 2016! This finals event will also be open for registered spectators to come on by and watch the action live, so book yourself in for those dates and come on down to watch the skill and intensity of Halo in the region!

More information on spectators will be released closer to the date.

TEAMS & FORMAT

We’ve heard your feedback and are pleased to announce that we have doubled the amount of teams that can participate at the live finals event from four (4) to EIGHT* (8)! To make this work, not every single match will be broadcasted to cater with the bracket and schedule, but we’ll definitely do our best to ensure that we get as much coverage as possible on all matches!

How does this change the qualification process you might ask? Well, that’s an easy one! When we reach our Invitational stage, much like we did in Season One, the top TWO teams per group will receive a direct invitation to the finals event, resulting in an eight team finals bracket that will follow the Double Elimination format.

*Please note that all teams will be required to make their own way to and from the event. Accommodation and travel will not be provided by ESL.

PRIZE POOL

We’ve announced that there is a $10,000AUD prize pool up for grabs, so let’s take a breakdown on how that money falls into placements!

  • 1ST PLACE: $5,000AUD (50%)
  • 2ND PLACE: $3,000AUD (30%)
  • 3RD PLACE: $1,200AUD (12%)
  • 4th PLACE: $800AUD (8%)

TOTAL: $10,000AUD
